ADIRÈE today announces the upcoming showcase of DAHIL REPUBLIC OF COUTURE during its sixth annual Africa Fashion Week, (www.AfricaFashionWeek.com) under the activation New York Fashion Week: Africa on Friday, September 11, 2015.
DAHIL REPUBLIC OF COUTURE, created by Kenyan designer Hilda Mauya, embodies the mission of using designs to tell captivating, traditional African Art. To hold true to the traditional trend of her pieces, Mauya produces her hand-crafted pieces in her hometown. The use of Kente cloth and silk fabrics create a balance between traditional and modern pieces. Dahil Republic of Couture plans to branch out to America with their first of two stores. Mauya’s pieces that narrate a story to America will create a mark for Dahil Republic of Couture in the Global Fashion Industry as well the Africa Fashion Industry.
