For those that don’t already name Deola Sagoe, she is one of the leading Nigerian fashion designers in the industry.\u00a0 She won the \u201cAfrica Designs\u201d and the MNET\/ Anglo Gold African designs 2000 awards, and has loyal famous fans such as Oprah Winfrey and Will Smith.\u00a0 Her Fall 2011 collection titled “Ori Oke.”\u00a0 The name of the collection is derived from the Japanese word \u201cShibori\u201d and the Yoruba word \u201cAso-Oke,\u201d\u00a0 both words describe methods of creating the traditional cloth of the respective cultures.\u00a0 The collection is a fusion of Japanese culture and Yoruba style of dress.\u00a0 The collection features intricate details and strucutred origami-esque creations.<\/p>\n
