AFWNY, produced by Adir\u00e9e, will take place July 12th, 13th, and 14th at the Broad Street Ballroom in New York\u2019s Financial District.<\/p>\n<p>Gustavo Garcia describes his style as joyful, fun and unselfconscious. Living in the Afro-Bolivian part of his country, Garcia uses chiffon, cotton jersey and stretch fabric offering women comfort and ease, yet showcasing a cultural fusion of contemporary fashions. The new designer has made a \u201cbuzz\u201d fairly quickly in Bolivian fashion industry and now is ready to take his designs up to the next level\u2014the global market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI bring a new, fresh, joyful, fun and unselfconscious vibe to casual wear. My designs are commercial and wearable but not your run of the mill mainstream.\u201d \u2014Gustavo Garcia<\/p>\n<p>Garcia\u2019s AFWNY 2012 debut is inspired by unwinding into a warm blue sky with colorful kites and hot air balloons at sight.<\/p>\n<p>AFWNY includes runway shows hosting 21+ designers from various countries in Africa and those of the African Diaspora, exhibitions, and industry networking events. Opening designers Francis Hendy, Korto Momolu, and designers like Mafi, Attolle Collection, Geraldo Fashions and others will showcase.<\/p>\n<p>About Gustavo Garcia:<br \/>\nBolivian designer Gustavo Garcia has a colorful and young design aesthetic.
