She wears many hats but evidently, fashion is her first love. Nfi’s work as part designer of the ground breaking clothing line, KiRette Couture, established her as a force to be reckoned within the African fashion industry. Her genius has been appreciated all over the world and copied by a number of up and coming Cameroonian designers making toghu incorporated clothing styles one of the most loved and unique designs in the popular West African fashion. She is the first designer to create and publicize the intricacies and beauty of the toghu designs, typically found in hand-woven traditional attires in Cameroon’s North West Province. A serious career in Fashion id unfathomable in Cameroon, but this ideology is gradually changing thanks to pioneers like Kibonen, who takes it upon herself to dis-virgin and mature this untapped tapestry. KibonenNY continues to break boundaries and create distinguished pieces that are simply hard to ignore.

“Taking African fashion industries to the level where the African values and supports the quality of her homemade brands will be our most valuable achievement, then our work will be too prominent for the world to ignore” Kibonen

AFWNY includes runway shows hosting 21+ designers from various countries in Africa and those of the African Diaspora, exhibitions, and industry networking events.
