Her designs, heavily inspired by  architecture and fine arts have been described as &#8220;monumental works of  art.\u2019\u2019 Her collections showcase her true craftsmanship; bold and  elaborate couture dresses with extravagant details made of unusual  materials like tin, steel and wood.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Weimans who is of Surinamese origin, has been the only Dutch fashion designer to have graduated from the prestigious <strong><a title=\"Royal Academy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vogue.it\/en\/talents\/contests-and-more\/2010\/06\/fashion-department-artesis-hogeschool\">Royal Academy of Fine Arts<\/a><\/strong> in Antwerp. Her graduation collection <em>The Power of my Dreams<\/em> won the I-D Styling award and was acquired in its entirety by the  Groninger museum. The gifted designer briefly worked for I-D magazine,  an experience she described as <em>The Devil Wears Prada<\/em>. <em><strong>Wonderland<\/strong><\/em>, her stunning second collection was part of the Paris Couture Week in 2008.<\/p><div id=\"afric-1224050161\" class=\"afric-inbody afric-entity-placement\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\"><!-- \/21718337565\/AFW300 -->\r\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1609524218907-0' style='width: 300px; height: 250px;'>\r\n  <script>\r\n    googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1609524218907-0'); });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Ms.  Weimans is currently working on various local and international  projects; a multidisciplinary art installation, a group exhibition and <strong>a solo exhibition at Art Bieniale later this year in Venice<\/strong>.
