PRESS | Adiree Announces Venue For Africa Fashion Week New York Spring/Summer 2016

Africa-Fashion-Week-LocationNew York (May 2014) – Africa Fashion Week New York (AFWNY) Spring/Summer 2016 will take place September 12 – 17 2015, and is just a few months away. Today, Adiree, owner and producer of the event, has made the exciting announcement of its home, The Broad Street Ballroom

“Many companies that have moved to Financial District since 2011 have been technology, advertising or media firms, including, most notably, Condé Nast. One common thread that we all share– meaning, Adiree and the aforementioned companies– is that we all bring a diversity to the downtown economy and its retail and residential areas. “The Broad Street Ballroom has been home to AFWNY for the past five years, since 2010, and we’re glad to continue our partnership” said Adiat Disu, Director of Africa Fashion Week.

The Broad Street Ballroom is one of the premiere event spaces in New York City, located in the Financial District at 41 Broad Street (between Beaver Street and Exchange Place), New York, 10004.

Built in 1929, the ageless space boasts of striking features and an exquisite architectural bone structure. It models with its 5,700 square foot of sprawling floor space, adorned with intricate marble mosaic columns, clothed with a 225-foot hand-painted mural wrapped around the room which was designed by artist Griffith Baily Coale, and accessorized by additional features such as  a 22’ x 22’ roll-down projection screen, a cocktail setting adequate for up to 630 guests, fully collapsible 32- by 16-foot stage, an auditorium setting for up to 500 plus guests, and State-of-the-art audio/visual system.

The Financial District of New York City (FiDi), is a neighborhood on the southernmost section of the borough of Manhattan which comprises the offices and headquarters of many of the city’s major financial institutions, including the New York Stock Exchange and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

“The Broad Street Ballroom has proven to be an excellent venue for our fashion events, and mirrors the history, culture and art that each of our designers and guests embody. The spacious and elegant venue will give designers an opportunity to showcase their creative vision in its decorative space; a perfect synergy of fashion, beauty, and art. Our main focus is to be at a space that make guests and designers alike, feel at home, and just as important, allow designers to present their collections beautifully, said Adiat Disu, Director of Adiree Communications and PR.

Situated in Financial District,  the neighboring area – “the city’s wealth pot” – is also home to chic restaurants and easily accessible by public transportation and taxi.

More information on designers, events and presentations as well as the opening of online registration will be announced within the upcoming weeks.
