Designer Profile: Duaba Serwa from Ghana

 

Premiering her latest designs at Hub of Africa’s fashion week, the Duaba Serwa label by Nelly Aboagye is the talk of town. Nelly Aboagye was originally inspired by the arts and crafts teachings of her mother. After graduating from the University of Ghana, Nelly Aboagye began her line Duaba Serwa. Nelly was inspired by Jean Paul Gaultier, even adopting his motto “La mode se de’ mode” meaning “Fashion goes out of Fashion”.

Nelly’s latest collection plays on many different styles: including, bold colors, African prints, and crisp tailoring.
