Fashion designer, Anne Mpinga made her runway debut at the Hub of Africa Fashion week in December 2o11, with her Kipusa line. Kipusa is Swahili for beautiful young lady and as the name suggests, her clothes are designed to accentuate the natural beauty of women. Using a combination of African prints, lace, natural cotton, and chiffon she accents and embraces women’s curves. Anne uses colorful African prints to create funky modern wear and reinvent typical casual wear. Her designs can be classified as modern-African chic.
