Marianne G.G. Brings Her Cleopatra Collection to Africa Fashion Week New York
New York, NY– June 14, 2012- On Saturday July 14, Marianne G.G. will showcase at Africa Fashion Week New York. AFWNY, a luxury multi-day event produced by Adirée, will take place at the Broad Street Ballroom on July 12-14th in New York City’s financial District.
Egyptian designer Marianne G.G. is the granddaughter of Cleopatra, the African Pharaoh queen who served as a muse in the fashion world for countless seasons. Her new collection, “Cleopatra in Times Square”, is obviously dedicated to her royal grandmother and is being created as if the royal highness herself were to actually visit New York’s famous Time Square. Colorful, bold, feminine, and fashion-forward, Marianne gives the Egyptian queen a modern twist.
AFWNY features runway shows hosting 21+ designers from various countries in Africa and those of the African Diaspora, exhibitions, and industry networking events. Opening designers Francis Hendy, Korto Momolu, and designers like Mafi, Attolle Collection, Geraldo Fashions and others will showcase.
