African Designs: Taking Over New York

Amaridian, a New York based gallery and showroom has teamed up with Africa in promoting African Designs. Some of the designs that they are showcasing include: “Mud Ceramics’ handcrafted clay bead Mud Chandeliers, Ronel Jordaan’s felted wool pebbles, cushions and other designs, and Willowlamp’s striking ball-chain chandeliers. Then there are Greg and Roche Dry’s fun Egg Designs, characterised by an element of surprise, Twig’s sizable, sculptural woven objects and stools, and Zenzulu’s woven telephone wire creations”. – Visi

Not only are African Designers bringing their culture and prints to garments, as will be showcased in Africa Fashion week 2012, July 12,13,14, but they are also bringing their culture and prints to furniture.
