African inspired brand, SUNO, has been named a Vogue Fashion Fund nominee by the CFDA. Each of the talented designers who were named nominees will spend the summer creating a special design project for L’Oreal where one winner will be chosen and announced mid-November. The winner receives $300,000 to pursue their design and business plans and a year-long mentorship with an industry professional. SUNO, who launched their new website and e-commerce store earlier this year produces 70% of their clothing ethically in Kenya. A win for SUNO would mean amazing things for the design house itself, and amazing things for African fashion as a whole.
