The "Black Issue" | Italian Vogue

Recently, Vogue Italia’s editor, Franca Sozzani, traveled to three West African nations: Ghana, Nigeria and Togo in the hopes of further advocating diversity. Annually, Vogue Italia issues the ‘Black Issue’ that features only black models to bring attention to the black community. Sozzani traveled to Africa to experience firsthand the progress made by the African fashion industry. While on her exploration, Franca Sozzani participated in a mentoring tour of  “New African Fashion” in order to fully understand their industry. The African Fashion industry continues to make great strides and best has yet to come.
