Dahil Republic of Couture Narrates Culture Through Kenya Made Designs

ADIRÈE today announces the upcoming showcase of DAHIL REPUBLIC OF COUTURE during its sixth annual Africa Fashion Week, (www.AfricaFashionWeek.com) under the activation New York Fashion Week: Africa on Friday, September 11, 2015.

Dahil Republic of Couture was introduced in 2010 by founder Hilda Mauya. She aims to convey a story through her designs in the way of traditional African art. Her fluid blend of traditional Kente cloth with luxurious silks and chiffons offers modern, enriched designs.

Dahil Republic of Couture is a self sustaining small business with the potential to take on the Fashion world by storm. Mauya prioritizes the manufacturing of her pieces locally which generates jobs for the Fashion Industry in Kenya. Mauya has also merged with Fashion Design schools to employ the “creme de la creme” of new, young fashion graduates. Her ambitions consist of launching stores in both America and Kenya by Spring 2016.
