We always like to keep an eye out for African designers during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, and while we patiently await Arise’s Made In Africa show coming later in the week, we got to see Tunisian-born Max Azria’s Spring 2012 collection for BCBG. The collection features geometric color blocking, which is one of the biggest trends this year. Daily Front Row dubbed it as, “tribal by way of Tetris.” Azria uses his wife, Lubov as the muse for much of his creations, but I think we are definitely seeing a bit of his African roots in his designs too.
