What One AFWNY Sponsor Does Off The Runway

The Huffington Post recently chronicled blogger Lindsay Maines’ trip to Africa where she learned of the amazing creativity and entrepreneurial spirit so many Africans possess, but unfortunately not as many know exists.  She got to experience firsthand the beautiful handcrafts made and got to see the work that one of our AFWNY sponsors (Origin Africa) does for the continent.  For Africa Fashion Week New York, Origin Africa sponsored designer, Fikirte Addis of Ethiopia, to come and showcase at AFWNY after winning a competition to earn her spot on the runway.  Origin Africa takes on many other initiatives within the continent of Africa to promote growth of African trade and boost their economy.  For the full story click here to learn more about what this great organization is doing for Africa.
