The Miss Universe Pageant was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil this year and a new Miss Universe was crowned just last night. The new beauty that will hold the title and wear the crown for the next year beat out 88 other competitors and is none other than Leila Lopes from Angola! The Miss Universe Pageant is the largest beauty pageant in the world and draws contestants from countries that some may have never even heard of. This year marked the 60th anniversary of the pageant and everyone at AFWNY and I’m sure many of you reading this are very proud to have Angola and the rest of African represented in such a positive light, by such a beautiful woman.
