MABM Designs : Ghana's Emerging Fashion Designer Showcases Luxury's Curves in New York

New York, NY-JUNE 2012- Maa Akua Berko-Mensah of MABM will showcase Saturday, July 14th at Africa Fashion Week New York. AFWNY, a luxury multi-day event produced by Adirée, will take place at the Broad Street Ballroom on July 12th, 13th, 14th in New York City’s financial District.

Maa Akua Berko-Mensah is an American based Ghanaian designer with a brand label MABM Designs. MABM was first launched in 2011, the concept behind the line is influenced by her unique sense of style that has evolved as a child growing up in Ghana and living in the United States. According to the designer, the new collection is colorful, fun, and unique, incorporating traditional fabrics with modern patterns. Fresh, youthful and unafraid, -MABM Designs take ‘whimsy’ to a whole different level.

AFWNY includes runway shows hosting 21+ designers from various countries in Africa and those of the African Diaspora, exhibitions, and industry networking events. Opening designers Francis Hendy, Korto Momolu, and designers like Mafi, Attolle Collection, Geraldo Fashions and others will showcase.
